Well long time no see to all you dedicated TOAS readers! Its been another stretch of crazy time for me but I’ve FINALLY got my act together, my whiteboard sprawled on and my fingers-a-tappin’
Pic & Tunes this time around although a short post is all going to be about my well deserved holiday to Barcelona with my lovely boyfriend a couple of weeks ago (of which every minute was amazing) and as I was dedicated to uploading every great moment and gaudi building on to my instagram I thought I’d posted them all here as I’m quite impressed with some of them if I do say so myself.
And for the ‘tunes’ part of this post.. a little old one hit wonder to hit those dreamy holiday notes won’t go a miss!
Check back very soon for some interesting articles on a couple of brands I’ve found and love. They’re set to be gooduns and are so nearly nearly completed!

This week although like every other inspirational post weeks it features a variety of fashion and beauty images but it’s also been heavily taken over by the art and design world and as my career is in design I thought I’d go into this side of my visual love a little further on here this week. My real favourite (although they’re all amazing) as you can probably guess is the floating snow hats piece by Nendo, I mainly love the sense of depth of field in this one! Where music is concerned.. the X Factor is always such a taboo subject when it comes to music and ‘talent’, I don’t watch it religiously but I did manage to catch Ella Henderson’s rendition of Cher’s ‘Believe’ a week or so ago and since listening to it I can’t seem to stop! The lyrics have been so enlightened and empowered by this version whilst seemingly brushing the whole 90’s ideal away that it doesn’t feel like that same overplayed karaoke song we all know, a talent hard to achieve for any musician so this girl is definitely one to sign.

Due to this week and last week of myself as well as the rest of the blogasphere and the journalists at fashion week having been obsessed with green for A/W Collections and for me in particular my mint green jumper shown in my most recent OOTD below.. this weeks pic and tunes imagery mainly focuses on that shade along with other little bits and bobs to brighten your day. I also have been crazy obsessed with rap music recently which is quite off the beaten track for me, but with the big show stoppers like Dr.Dre and Eminem we all know it’s not just the rapping we enjoy it’s the backing track too so here’s a little song all you 90’s kids will be familiar with, one of the most obvious but definitely one of the best..

Its been a whole year since graduation and for me and most of my friends its been quite an up hill struggle. Not to delve too far and get this blog into a political debate, I think that the people of the UK can safely say it’s not been the best of economic climates and so being a young graduate trying to start a career in a wealth of un-employment is harder than ever. But with a cocktail of determination, commitment and constant hard work alongside personality, positive work ethic and solid portfolio this eventually turns into that first stepping stone one of which most of us are on, and hopefully one we will all stay on which is a very exciting prospect!
So in honour of this very important start and a whole year of non-stop development, me and a couple of friends figured it was time we had a well deserved holiday! I’m so excited as I don’t remember the last time I really felt like I’d got away and although nothings been booked.. one place we were thinking of going was Bulgaria as its one of the top holiday destinations at the moment. So this pic and tunes is obviously all about holidays, travel and new discoveries.. with the video of Hard-Fi’s “Fire in the house” which if you hadn’t already guessed was the inspiration behind yesterday’s outfit post title, and one of those rock bands from teenhood which I’ve got back into recently.

Its been a happily productive last week or so for me! Although I feel slightly cramped by life’s constant job list (isn’t everyone) I do feel my creative spark has started to flow again into so many areas.. and I’m putting it down to my music choices at the moment (judge away if you will). Although I write about alternative/indie/electro/rock genres and base myself mainly in those.. my chart listening, hairbrush as microphone romantic teenage self made an appearance as of late, and took me to see the dark guilty pleasure of films that is The Katy Perry Movie. Other than the fact I was the ONLY one in the 20+ age range in the theatre (making me feel somewhat silly) and that it was a celebrity culture documentary in 3D on the big screen..? It was quite a well grounded all inspiring ‘American Dream’ documentary, which broke the mold from similar movies so don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! Although her music doesn’t touch into ultimate cool hipster territory she creates great memorable pop music which is what makes her so loveable and successful (they don’t call it mainstream for nothing!)
So this weeks post has been heavily captured by Katy’s latest extended album ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’ and below I’ve posted a music video, trailer and a review I think sums up the movie perfectly. Plus as her core innocent sugar-coated 40’s/50’s twee look seems to resonate in quite a few summer looks of my own, my image inspiration has become part fairy-tale part fashion dream…*

*Oh lastly before I go.. I’d like to say a MASSIVE thank you to my current 514 followers! I’d never really clocked until recently how high my follow count had gotten so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for coming back, reading, browsing, commenting and liking all the weird and wonderful things I write about! It’s so nice to think that such a small thing I do on the internet which only started a meer 2 years ago has touched so many different interesting people all over the world!
I always like to think all my readers go away with something they’re inspired by so if there are posts you’d like to see more of or old favourites you want brought back let me know and I’ll see what I can do! xx

A little late for a pic and tunes this week but I wanted to just share a few bits and pieces quickly that I’ve been ogling at this week which are mainly just random bits and pieces of fashion, photography and design that have inspired or interested me over the past 7 days. I’ve also really got into the midst of the Arctic Monkeys again and with their release of ‘R U Mine’ and appearance of Alex’s new hair.. (which is going to take a while to grow on me..) I thought I’d take you all back to where the genius began.

With Hackney Weekend winging its cockney self into the distance leaving behind a combination of happy festival attenders, worse for wear headaches, soaked through leggings and the odd peeved kid who couldn’t get tickets (aka myself) until next year, its only fair that I dedicate this weeks pic & tunes to East London’s finest attenders and all the sort of stuff I probably missed out on (minus the weather).
