Well JULY can you believe was the last time this feature was on the blog.. So I thought I’d bring it back (hopefully as a more regular read) ..and boy are there some things to blow all those treats out the water this Halloween and get santa’s sleigh bells a-ringing!..

1) Beaded Peter Pan Collar Light-Purple Dress: £32.89: Romwe
From a curiosity of Romwe starting from the following of strutt you may or may not have noticed the baroque dress I bought recently snapped on my twitter as to try out their service of course.. which I love (although the sizes were a little confusing) so this purple christmasy number could be on my hit list if it’s not taken up as a christmas present.
This dress is everything a fashion fiend wants with a fitted embellished top half, A-line skirt, slightly quirky palette and overall layerable features to create several styles.

2) Elise dress: £35: Monki
Yes yes another dress. Not to everyone’s taste I will add but for an interchangeable slouchy desk dressed damsel to a bloodied and cat eared Wednesday night halloqueen, this one will come in handy for those last-minute party gatecrashes.

3) Skull cameo necklace: £18: Madison Honey Vintage
Little behind on the old Alexa Chung skull cameo trend really aren’t I? but I’d thought I’d bring it back in for all those below-the-collar shirt days this winter as its one to smash the rock chick trend.. plus the hallo vibe.

4) Jameela Galaxy Tunic: £15: Missguided
Ignore that this is another dress.. and more on the fact that its.. well.. a little silly for winter? But I really love this one. Its got the perfect amount of dress up and dress down capabilities as our monki friend from above.. but also could be a possible skirt if covered with a slouchy grey jumper and covering those fleshy areas.

5) Cupcake Pom Beanie: £12: ASOS
Cold weather (although all-weather for me) coincides with wearing hats and what better way than to sweeten up those more urban or neutral palette trends than to prance around like a cute little cupcake! It’s sure to make me weak with a “Can I have this as a stocking filler this christmas!? Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top!”

It’s that time again.. the weathers getting cold, your grabbing most of the day light whilst you can and those dark christmas palettes filled with beaming metallic’s are cropping up all over the high street to tempt you before you’ve even thought about what you’re doing for new years. So what better way to start the new season with A/W’s always highlighted trend.. embellishment.
Embellishment can make any outfit go from bland to brilliant and this ASOS jewel encrusted bag will do just that so you don’t have to think about your NY outfit just yet whilst bejeweling any night out ahead of all your fashion pals.. oh and did I mention its at just over 100th of this Jimmy Choo price tag?

1) Chunky Jewel Barrel Across Body Bag: £45: ASOS

2) Claire silver-tone brass and crystal clutch: £4,000: Jimmy Choo via Net-a-porter

Shelly’s Shoes

October 1, 2012

Its end of season sale time everywhere and with my name being what it is its only fair that I talk about a well-known 50’s brand called Shelly’s shoes right?

Shelly’s shoes are a family business developed in the heart of 50’s britain, bumped and hustled its way into the lime light in the 70’s as footwear to ‘The Jam’ and given the title of hippest shoe from the 80’s and 90’s. With that being the main back story, although the brand has had its hey day and is now settling with little selling partnerships at ASOS and Newlook, and is probably not so hot right now as a creatively sculpted McQueen Armadillo or as star-studded as a spiked lita on the feet of a Jessie J or a Rita Ora, if you’re looking for some sickly sweet well made affordable feminine fancies for the last of the good weather before the darker seasons settles in Shelly’s are ones to browse.

With plenty of wild tropical prints and bear face pumps that you can shake a Charlotte Olympia stick at Shelly’s shoes provide a range of sophisticated classics as well as quirky twists on originals with cut out patterns and abstract shaped heels, meaning those fashion forward mums and high street haulers alike can find something they fancy all with immaculate detailing and high quality.

Belle wedge: £38.99 in the sale

Having had a pair of pixie boots made by Shelly’s before I can vouch for this brands comfortable, quality and long-lasting wear which is everything a shoe buyer is looking for right? And with sale prices what they are on the website and in the range at Newlook online.. it seems stupid to pass these by.. even if it is for a next year feet treat.

All sale prices – 1) Frankie wedge: £29.99 2) Cherub T-bar dolly shoe: £35.99 3) Picnic Basket vintage style open back brogue: £25.99 4) Joyce woven style brogue sandal: £30.99

A spiked, studded and all round Osbourne goth chic is a real vibe right now and a great way to accessorise your outfit with textures and pattern without having to majorly compromise the rest of your outfit. Bloggers everywhere have been jumping on this trend of mixing feminine floral’s with fiery spikes to create those ultimate contrasting looks.. and the best part about it is it can be snapped up on the simplest of budgets. One of my favourites has to be the statement making spiked headband, and below is my top 3 selection of affordable cranium crowns to jump headfirst into this trend with.

1) ASOS Spike Pearl & Crystal Headband: £12: ASOS
2) SPIKE SECTION ALICEBAND: £12.50: Topshop
3) Silver spike head-dress: £3.49: Ebay

August 11, 2012

So it’s finally the weekend.. And the above post of skittles vodka is going to be one of my experiment this weekend for my night out soon! I’m not a huge drinker but since one of my good friends from Art College and my best mates are in our home town again I though I’d celebrate.. its been too long :( But now on to the post..

1) Gold-tone cameo ring: £185: Alexander McQueen via Net-A-Porter
2) Skull Sovereign Ring: £6: ASOS

I searched absolutely high and low for a copy cat to this Alexander McQueen cameo because it is to DIE for! I’ve always loved gun metal on gold and have the House Of Harlow Triquetra ring in my collection which I love as it’s the perfect tone of metals to add texture to any monochrome outfit and this McQ is another on trend example.
Now I know the ASOS version is nowhere near a dupe but I could not find a single decent version anywhere.. I partly think I was blinded by the beauty of the McQ so finding something better was a little difficult.. Well that’s what in going with anyway.

Enjoy the weekend!

The Bloggers Bookmarks #6

July 27, 2012

Wow, its been a while since I did a bloggers bookmark!.. With all the lovely things I’ve been collating for myself on top of work currently.. I’ve found it hard to find the time to shrink it all down to a bitesize piece! So hopefully this little lot depicts where I’m at right now with my current styling and trends, I know it’s a little sale central.. but where isn’t!

1) SERENA DRESS: Sale! £20: Goldie via Topshop
Running wild with 50’s retro, plaid is a real late 50’s print and is a fresher summer joy for anyone trying to get away from the darker tartan prints that really depict winter. This little Goldie dress in the sale on the Topshop website is a real cheap modern treat for cracking those 50’s and white trends this season, and yes.. the belt is included!

2) Deirdre Shoe: Sale! £47: Dr.Martens
The next two items were obviously adored in direction towards wearing with the Serena dress.. and the other dress shown here by ASOS which I have now purchased.. can you see why? I am obviously (like most bloggers) a lover of mainly 80’s, 60’s and 50’s dress and are probably the best of the era’s were closest to now and ones where vintage stuff is easy to come across (I do like 40’s but it’s always really hard to find) people who search for vintage will know where I’m coming from. In conjunction with these eras Dr.Martens are a fashionistas best friend and these have the perfect amount of femininity without tearing away the unique masculine heart of a Dr.Marten shoe, a perfect amount of testosterone for my style to bring that Serena dress down a few pretty pegs.

3) 11″ Leather Black Croco Satchel: Sale! £63: Dr.Martens
And yes.. along with the Deirdre shoe I couldn’t help but look at the rest of the Dr.Marten’s sale… and nose at my favourite of the satchels which I’ve mentioned before on my blog, dreaming about how good that whole outfit would look!.. Anyone love me enough to get me these 3 numbers?

4) Pencil Dress In Gingham: Sale! £14: ASOS
Moving on.. or rather a-long.. with another dress that would go SO well with the 2 DM items.. this ASOS sale gingham number is a super Grease/Betty Boop hit (Approved by Betty Boop herself!).. At first I thought as I’m quite curvy and its white it may attack me in all the wrong places.. But it’s actually such a nice piece and although will need nude coloured undies its lilac 50’s pride will sit well in my current wardrobe. Can’t wait to wear it!

5) Perfume Bottle Pendant: Sale! £7.50: Gogo Philip
I always love the alternative long necklaces Gogo Philips creates and this is so lovely, a perfect extra bit of layering to put with ‘that’ gingham number.. and this ones with nearly £10 off!

So now you’re all up to date.. enjoy the sales! And remember to check back next week for a few more fashion articles I’ve got up my sleeve.. along with the usual Pic & Tunes!

A few more birthday surprises!..

June 19, 2010

I know my birthday was nearly a month ago but I thought I’d tell you about a few other cool little things I got for my birthday…
After moaning to my boyfriend about presents and endless amounts of emails telling him what I wanted he surprised me by getting both dresses I showed him even though I only asked for one, so I felt very spoilt by him :) both dresses are from asos

I also received some lovely jewelry on top of my rock ‘n rose ring including this lovely daisy print acrylic bracelet from my cousin from her online Facebook shop called Love My Junk, another flower related bracelet which I don’t take off from my brother and his girlfriend and last but not least I received my first diamond ring! Which has finally made its way down to me through my family!!

I lastly also received some amazing little shell trinket boxes that were given to me from one of my very good friends at uni, I can only assume that the amount of ooing and ahing I did for hours over pictures on the net of these little boxes instead of doing my uni project probably gave away how much I wanted one so I was extremely happy with them :)

Then after all those amazing presents and a small family get together I then had my 2nd annual joint party with my friend Robyn and had an absolute blast! So overall its been a start to a hopefully amazing summer!

Pattern Perfection!

May 16, 2010

A while ago I was flicking through my housemates ASOS magazine and found a lovely pair of laser cut patterned shoes and fell head over heels for them. I went on the website later that day to try and find them and unfortunately they weren’t there.
Recently I’ve been on a slight shoe binge in celebration of my birthday and I found 3 Newlook versions of the shoe and I’m now the proud owner of the mega cute pink pair.
Lucky for me that I bought the £30 Newlook version as I’ve now found the original pair and they are unfortunately attached to a whopping £125 price tag!… they’re still lovely though.
